Courage – To Stand In The Light
The fourth white lotus code is “Courage. I will stand in the light with all darkness around me.”
“I will stand”: Standing means rooted in, prepared to do battle, to hold fast your position, to brace for what may come.
“in the light”: Light represents what is seen and therefore real and true – what is truly right and good – and dispels (fights against) darkness.
*With all darkness around me”: Darkness makes us stumble as we cannot see well. Bad deeds like to be concealed so the darkness represents wrong, false or hurtful views and actions. Darkness hates the light though it cannot overcome it. If light and dark meet, darkness always loses.
Sometimes we are surrounded by darkness–people with bad motives who may want to take advantage of us, take things from us, or take us to make us like them. It takes courage to choose to stand in the light when peer pressures, authority pressures, or our own temptations pressure us to go in the dark.
Sometimes all our family and friends may go a different direction and we are all alone choosing what we believe is the right path. That is courage. We may feel afraid, we may feel tempted, we may feel threatened, but the light will eventually reveal all truth and in the end many in the dark will be shown to be cowards and to be weak. They gave into the pressures or fears. Eventually they will stumble in the darkness. But by us standing in the light we may offer them hope to come out of the darkness. Our courage may instill courage for others. For courage is inspiring when we see it in others. Today you may face some darkness. It’s time to take a stand.
